Aircraft for MS CFS3 featuring 5 sub variants, many available liveries, accurate
flight model, realistic rendition of a virtual cockpit, reflective gauges,
dynamic eyepoint movement, custom weapons pack, custom
engine-start/exhaust/vapor effects, custom sound.

INSTALLATION:

IMPORTANT! The Download is split into various files: a shared file, a sound file
and the (currently) 5 different variants of the BF 110 G-2. You need to install
at least 2 files: the shared file and one of the aircraft containers. If you
don't download and install the sound, the stock Ju-88 sound will be used.
Engine-start, exhaust and vapor effects require manual Installation. A
step-by-step guide can be found in the documents.

Install the shared file! This file is required, you're not smart if you leave
this one out! It's also not recommended to move content around, keep the folder
structure as is! If you don't already have the shared file, get it at the
website where you have downloaded the other parts of this Add-on or get it
straight from the developer's site

INSTALLATION: De-compress the ZIP Archiv to a temporary directory of your choice
and double-click the executable file (*.exe). The installer should automatically
detect your CFS3 path and place all files into their appropriate folders. No
portions of your default CFS3 installation will be modified or replaced. When
prompted, open the documentation and make yourself familiar with the features
and additional steps to complete the installation.

NOTES FOR USERS OF THE PRE-VERSION: Many of the files have been updated, some
weapons files have been renamed. Old and new versions are not compatible. There
should however be no issues if you install the new files on top of the old ones
except the sound which will be defaulted to Ju-88, so backup your sound files
first or install them new later.

EFFECTS INSTALLATION
You can choose 1 of 3 options to install engine startup flames, exhaust smoke
and vapor trails, depending on your computer skills and your available software.
Leaving out the effects installation should not not cause any problems, but you
will sure miss some eye candy. Basically we will be copying some simple lines of
text from one document to another, so don't be gun-shy.:-)

1) If you have no experience with adding effects and you know that you have no
other 3rd party effects installed.
That's easy. The effects are stored in a filed called "effects.xml" inside your
main CFS3 folder You can simply replace this file with a new one we have
prepared for you.
How do you do so?
Locate the file "effects.xml" inside your main CFS3 root. This is by default
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3
Rename it to something else, for instance "effects.ori".
Locate the file "new_effects.xml" which is located in "CFS3
root\GroundCrew\BF110G", copy and past it into your main CFS3 root and rename it
to "effects.xml". That's it.

2) If you have an XML Editor installed and you know how to deal with it.
Browse to your CFS3 root (default = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat
Flight Simulator 3) and make a backup copy of your "effects.xml". Either move
the backup copy outside of your CFS3 path or rename it to something else.
Open the file "CFS3 root\GroundCrew\BF110G\add_to_effects.xml" using your XML
Editor and open the original effects.xml in another XML Editor window. Copy and
past all Elements from "add_to_effects.xml" to "effects.xml". Save and close
your work. Done!

3) If you have no special XML Editor, but you have other 3rd party effects
installed.
In that case you would have to copy and past some lines of text into your
original "effects.xml" using a text editor such as Notepad.
How do you do so?
Locate the file "effects.xml" inside your main CFS3 root. This is by default
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3
Make a backup copy of this file outside your CFS3 root.
Next open the "activ" effects.xml using your text editor (right-click, select
"open with", select editor)
Locate the file "add_to_effects.txt" which is located in "CFS3
root\GroundCrew\BF110G" and open it in another editor window.
Right-click on an empty place inside this file, select "mark all", right-click
againd and select "copy". Close the File.
Highlight the editor window with the original effects.xml, scroll down to the
bottom, right-click and select "paste".
Save the file. Make shure that your text editor does not add the extension
".txt" to the file. That´s it!

HINTS AND TIPS

- Gun Trigger
- Aircraft Detail Settings
- Framerate friendlier Cockpit
- Paint Options

Gun triggers:

The default CFS3 configuration puts the guns on your joystick's button 1 and
puts the firing of all guns and cannons together on button 2. We recommend you
change this as some of the Bf110 armament configurations should make use of
separate gun and cannon triggers.
How do you do so?
Start CFS3, go to "Options", "Control Options",
click "save config as" and type in a name of your choice.
Select "Weapons commands", click "fire cannons only",
click "add assignment" and click on your joystick's button 2.
Ignore the warning and click "OK". Congratulations, that's it!

Aircraft Detail Setting:

If you have your aircraft detail slider in the CFS3 display options window set
below 3, you will see a lower detailed model of the aircraft and you will not be
able to see inflicted damage (bullet/cannon holes). Thus we recommend to set
this slider at least to position 3.

Framerate friendlyer Cockpit:

You can install a more frame rate friendly Cockpit without reflective gauges and
no dynamic eyepoint movement. It can gain some fps in VC mode.
How to install?
Open Windows Explorer and browse to the Groundcrew folder inside your CFS3
installation . This is by default:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3\GroundCrew\
Locate the file "xxx_cockpit0.m3d", right-click on it and copy.
Browse to the CFS3 aircraft directory and open one of the gc_bf110 folders you
have installed, for instance "gc_bf110g2r3".
Right-click on an empty space of this folder and paste.
You should now see two **cockpit0.m3d files: the original (in our example
"gc_bf110g2r3_cockpit0.m3d") and the "xxx_cockpit0.m3d"
Good so far! :-)
Rename the original file to anything else, for instance, replace the last
character with an underscore so that it read "gc_bf110g2r3_cockpit0.m3_". This
makes sure that CFS3 can't recognize the old file, but you still have it there
if you decide to go back to it at one point.
Next rename the "xxx_cockpit0.m3d" to "gc_bf110g2r3_cockpit0.m3d".
That's it, done!

Paint Options:

All aircraft come with a set of historical textures. Just nose art is enabled by
default. You can however download for each plane a set of textures with all CFS3
paint options like nose art, color bands and numbers enabled at our site
